You're Invited: Become a Certified Listening Lab Facilitator

Dear friends,

I’m thrilled to share something really exciting with you. On June 13, I am hosting a Listening Lab Leader Certification Training in New York City, and I’d love for you to be there. This one-day training is designed to help leaders like you bring Listening Labs to your community — whether that’s on campus, in the workplace, or within any organization.

What are Listening Labs?

Listening Labs are an award-winning methodology designed to create deep, meaningful connections in environments where disconnection, stress, and loneliness are prevalent. Through a carefully structured set of activities, Listening Labs help participants listen actively, share openly, and connect authentically with others. It's a tool to bring people together, strengthen listening skills, and foster a sense of belonging.

This training is your chance to learn the Listening Lab methodology firsthand and become certified to lead these powerful experiences in your own setting.

What Does the Training Include?

  • Full-Day Immersive Experience: You’ll participate in multiple Listening Lab immersions, where you’ll experience the methodology firsthand and practice facilitation.
  • Interactive Role-Playing: You’ll hone your skills in managing group dynamics and facilitating tough conversations through interactive role-playing sessions.
  • Certification: By the end of the day, you’ll be certified as a Listening Lab Leader, ready to bring the methodology back to your organization or community.
  • Access to Our Digital Portal: You’ll gain 1-year access to our Listening Lab portal, which includes assessment tools, training materials, activity guides, and hundreds of ready-to-use prompts. Plus, you’ll connect with a community of other trained leaders for ongoing support.
  • Networking: Build relationships with other professionals who are dedicated to fostering belonging and connection in their work.

Why Listening Labs?

As someone who’s deeply invested in creating connections, I believe this work can be a game-changer. I’ve seen firsthand how Listening Labs can transform environments, foster meaningful relationships, and help individuals feel truly heard. The Listening Lab methodology is designed for maximum impact and efficiency, making it an ideal tool for busy professionals who want to create real change without overwhelming their teams or organizations.

August 27, 2025 Through Heartbreak and Renewal: Introducing Sefira Wellness Dear Ones, How are you all holding up? This summer has been busy and wonderful and challenging. I've been crying and praying about the horrors - near and far - and donating money to groups like Standing Together and the Immigrant Defense Project. I've spent a LOT of time with my kids. I spent a few weeks doing some deep Jewish learning with the Shalom Hartman Institute in Berkeley CA, combined with a life-changing,...

Dear Ones, I've been thinking about scarcity mentality a lot lately. Scarcity mentality is the belief that there isn’t enough—enough time, enough love, enough success, enough space at the table. It is not about the very real resource scarcity that many in our world are facing at the moment. Scarcity mentality is when we actually have more than enough of what we need but instead we feel like if someone else has something, there’s less left for you. But scarcity mentality is just one way of...

Dear Ones, Last week I shared a haiku that I wrote* and it led me to find this gem on the internet from 2018, when John Paul Lederach was on the On Being podcast and offered a number of haikus. Here are some of my favorites. Don’t ask the mountain / to move. Just take a pebble/ each time you visit. Wild and unruly. / Quiet enough to be held. / Silence between words. Smile. Offer gratitude. Leave the poem. We never know, really, where change begins. Do you have any favorite haikus that you...
